Helloo friends :)
this is my first post and I'm really excited to share with you God's word! So firstly, let me begin with a verse from Psalms.
"For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation." (Psalm 149:4)
I got this verse from Facebook. And yes you heard me right, FACEBOOK. Well this application was added to my fb account ever since I got one. The application is called - Daily Bible Scriptures, if you're interested to know. Thank God for this application, really. They've got some really amazing verses :)
I believe many of you are probably like me - Facebook addicts. You log on to your internet, check your mail and you're immediately drawn to facebook every single day. Well at least, i know that's almost my daily routine! Your time and energy is just sapped away as you check out your friend's new pictures or play the numerous games on the website. And then after that, you're overwhelmed by the guilt that you've neglected your work because you spent most of the time on the internet, or maybe, you're overwhelmed by the guilt that you've neglected, God.
I cannot deny that this has happened to me, not once but countless occasions. Surfing the internet till 11ish, and then going up to bed, almost ready to do QT and bam, i fall asleep. This has happened to me so many times over the past term and it's definitely not an example to follow. Have you ever considered using the amount of time on FB, doing something more wholesome, more fruitful, like reading the Bible? My sister went on this 40-day fast from FB and she has definitely grown in faith. Nothing beats the joy of acknowledging God's faithfulness to us. He is the almighty, our strength and our fortress.
I'd consider the Bible as God's Face-book, because it provides us a reflection of our sins, and it also reflects God's greatness and love. So we've got 2 choices now, indulging in the eternal facebook of God's word, or the facebook that only brings us temporal joy.
I know it's hard kicking the entire facebooking habit immediately, so if it might help, you can add the 'Daily Bible Scriptures' to your bookmarks on fb. But NEVER replace your QT with that one Bible verse on fb. Remember QT is a time for only you and Christ.
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17)
Our God is faithful, and He heals and rescues all those with burdened hearts. Do commit and do not be afraid of judgement because do remember, He first loved us. (1 John 4:19)
Have a blessed week :)
Take care & God bless,
Diane
