Who is God, really?
So many times we wonder, where do we find our answers ?
Or do we just live life and expect an answer to fall from the sky.
So often we come across the verse Exodus 3:14
14 God said to Moses, "I am who I am . [a] This is what you are to say to the
Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.'
You may look at that verse and question what God was trying to say. What exactly was his intention in calling himself "I AM"?
Think about it, Who has the name "I AM".
Logically speaking, that isn't even a noun.
What God is saying is "whatever you need, that's what I AM"
This was what God said to Moses when Moses needed encouragement and strength in his life.
Later in this chapter, verse 15 God carries on saying,
God also said to Moses, "Say to the Israelites, 'The LORD, [c] the God of your
fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.' This is my name forever, the name by which I am to be
remembered from generation to generation.
God IS still I AM today.
He is still what you need.
Is Comfort your need?
"Cast all your anxiety on him for he cares for you" 1 Peter 5:7
Do we need victory?
"But thanks be to God!He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ" 1Cor 15:57
Do we need love?
"God is love" 1 John 4:8
Whatever your need is, ask of Him for God the Father will not give you stone when you ask for bread, he will give good gifts to those who ask Him as in Matthew 7.
Matthew 7:7-12
God is the great I AM."Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door
will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and
to him who knocks, the door will be opened. 9"Which of you, if his son
asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10Or if he asks for a fish, will give him
a snake? 11If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to
your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those
who ask him! 12So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to
you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."
God be with you.
